He regularly presents seminars not only in Indiana but also in major cities such as New York, Washington, D.C., Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Cincinnati. He is also a regular instructor at Japanese automotive company’s supplier seminars. Since 2003 Mr. Homma has published AJBL Scope, a U.S. legal newsletter written in Japanese, to subscribers. He is a shareholder member of the Indianapolis office of the law firm Ogletee, Deakins since 2002.Mr. Homma has been practicing law mainly in the areas of employment and labor laws and business immigration laws. He counsels Japanese companies in the U. S. with regard to employment issues such as discrimination and harassment, and reduction-in-force. He also handles E, L and H-1B visa petitions for Japanese clients.Mr. Homma has considerable business experience in Japan. He joined Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd. in 1973 immediately after he graduated Hitotsubashi University in Tokyo. He worked in the human resources department in Tokyo and residential condominium development group in Hiroshima from 1973 through 1983. Mr. Homma was appointed as the executive assistant to the President and CEO of Mitsui Fudosan in 1983 and served in that capacity for six years. He left Mitsui Fudosan in 1991 to go to law school in the U.S. after he served as manager of the business planning section in urban residential development department for two years.
